Beach Nourishment

The Outer Banks participates in periodic Beach Nourishment.  Beach (Re)nourishment is the process in which sand is pumped onto the existing beach in order to stabilize it and widen it.  This process very important to our area in order to maintain the beaches as well as protect the oceanfront properties and infastructurebehind it.  To learn more about Beach Nourishment, how's it's done and the benefits, please watch this video from the Town of Kill Devil Hills:
