The largest natural sand dune on the east coast, Jockey's Ridge hosts a number of summer activities for visitors. Hang gliding, kite flying, hiking trails, sand boarding and more are available as well as simply climbing the dune for some of the best views the Outer Banks has to offer. Visit the on site museum to learn about the ecology and wildlife in the area as well as take part in sponsored program such as the junior ranger program for children. Admission is free.
