One unique feature to buying investment property on the Outer Banks, especially homes in vacation rental programs, is that they are usually furnished. Depending on the age of the home and interests of the owner, furnishings may or may not be in good condition or up-to-date. Good furnishings and space may look awry and only need re-arranging.

Pat Lane
Pat Lane has resided on the Outer Banks for 20 years – permanently relocating with her family from the Pittsburgh, PA area in 1988. Her passion for design began at a young age when as a Girl Scout she completed a project of “What I Want To Be”. Pat compiled a scrapbook of magazine photos showing rooms that she liked and those she didn’t like. Although it would be a number of years before she would actually earn a living as a Designer, she continued to pursue her interest by attending design classes and helping friends with their homes.
The Outer Banks provided the opportunity for a second career and a realization of a dream to work in the field she loved. As Vice President of the design department for a prominent local builder and developer, Pat had the opportunity to work with more than 250 clients who have either built new or remodeled homes on the Outer Banks. Additional training and work experience enabled Pat to secure membership in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) where she continues to be a member in good standing.
After operating her own business offering interior design services through her home décor shop Pat comes to Atlantic Realty ready to share her expertise with our owners.
