We had a wonderful time staying at the Pelican;s Nest. The view is awesome and it's so close to the beach. The house was great. I few minor upkeep issues but it was clean and bright and very well stocked. We would definitely consider Atlantic Realty again if the office wasn't so far from the house. Keep up the great work!!

We have stayed here for quite a few years and always love the location and the comfort of the house. The grill was a nice addition. A picnic table on the deck would be a nice addition.

Our family was very comfortable while staying in the Pelican's Nest. It was not only comfortable, but a beautiful home as well. We had internet access and a washer and dryer (which was important for our family). We were right on the beach and within walking distance of the pier. Our part of the beach was very quiet and there was limited public access.

My only problem with the check-in is that the office (kitty Hawk) is far away from the house. I think you should have an office at Whalebone for people arriving and leaving via 64 and renting either north or south of the junction. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, cookware and tools. The house was just what we had hoped for and expected when we rented it. The owner talked personally with my son to get the internet connection working. All the appliances worked well. The beach was excellent, with just enough people to be friendly. The only annoyances were plumbing--a slow shower drain in one bathroom, a cranky toilet in another, and a slow faucet in the kitchen. Someone came out promptly and greatly improved but did not completely cure the toilet. I don't feel that I can rate the value since this was the first time we have rented a beach house.

This was our first trip to the OBX. We had a great time. For the most part, we didn't do anything at the beach house but relax and hang around the house and ocean. Lots of fun.

House was beautiful and helped save vacation as it rained more than half the time we were there. Also impressed by owner (Mr. Duke) doing follow-up call to see how our stay was and any suggestions that we might have to improve future stays. Answers: "excellent except for the rain" and "nothing".

Check-in was quick and the house was clean when we arrived. The house is beautiful - very cozy and light! (So many homes we've stayed in are dark even with the shades open.) The home has plenty of space even with the belongings of 3 small children scattered throughout it. The location is the pier is perfect & the convenience of the walkway to the beach is fantastic - makes it much easier for lunch & quick trips to the house. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils & appliances, TV entertainment center (movies, DVD player, etc...) is great! We love everything about this house - the only suggestion we would have is a gas grill - they're just easier to light & use at the beach.

We think Pelican's nest is in the perfect location. Not in the middle of the hubub but not to far from shopping and restaurants. It has everything we need but is not too fancy so that we feel uncomfortable. One idea for improvement would be a gas grill for the deck or the downstairs.

Our family had a wonderful week on the Outer Banks, due in large part to the fantastic Pelican's Nest. The home was clean and neat, nicely appointed, with plenty of space and amenities. It was comfortable and the decor was lovely and relaxing. It couldn't have been any closer to the beach - the views were amazing - and it was easy to take the short walkway, right into the sand. It was also kid-friendly - a huge plus!
