We stayed at Herons Return, a 4 bedroom 2 bath cottage at the 2 mile post in the Outer Banks, NC. We loved the location at this end of the Outer Banks, which was away from the hustle and bustle that comes with vacationing during the peak season. The cottage was adequately furnished and the view from the back deck was not pictured in the ones you could view, but should have been. It was beautiful! You could really see the water from this point and the way the living room was arranged, you could even see it from the large sofa. The beds were a little used and could be updated soon. We had a few problems with ants: especially in the kitchen and master bathroom. We loved the way the cottage was set up with a bathroom between each of the two bedrooms on each side. The ceiling fans were also a nice extra since the weather was extremely hot when we were there. The air conditioning really got a work out also but it continued to maintain our nice cool temperature daily. Overall, we enjoyed our week in Herons Return and if you're looking for a good value for families of 5 or more who just wanted to spend a nice relaxing week at the beach without a lot of unnecessary frilly extras like a pool or hot tub since you've got the beach to enjoy, then this is the place for you!
