Atlantic Realty

The vacation home was not cleaned upon our Tuesday arrival at 4 pm. Rochelle was called in after our arrival to clean it and she did a nice job. We had to wait about 2 hours (with our dog) on the porch after 6 hours of driving. That was not a warm welcome. Nancy the manager said she would give us something to compensate and said she would call us that Friday while we were there. She did not call us. Upon check out (Tues. Aug 31) I spoke with angie who said she would help us and asked if she could call us back the next day. (The receptionist said angie was very good and would take care of us.) We did not receive a call from angie either and were also told Nancy was no longer there. This situation has become rather disappointing. We are being led to believe that atlantic Realty is trying to ignore us and shrug off their responsibility to follow through as promised. The house was nice, well laid out and location to the beach was easy. The upper deck was fun. Thank you to the owners who agreed to rent to us for the week. This was the first time we have rented with atlantic Realty and we have been vacationing in the OBX for four years. We have rented prior with Stan White who never let us down. I do not think highly of atlantic Realty at this point and will certainly share my experience with several of my friends who also regularly vacation at the OBX.

the house was nice,except for the 2 huge bugs we saw, the tv could be updated and we could of used some wooden spoons,other than that the location is really great and the house wasnt bad

This was a last-minute trip for us, so there weren't too many mid-priced places from which to choose. The life-guarded beach is very close to this property, which was one of our primary "must haves" and which made our days very flexible with going back and forth. However, along with this location came a lot of traffic - day and night. This did not mean horns honking, but there was a fairly steady flow, and in the morning there were definitely trucks and heavy equipment moving along. The house is actually larger than we thought; the enclosed porch made it much better for the kids, and the kitchen also was larger than we thought based on the pictures. We were there during very, very hot days and the A/C was great. Also, with 4 teens and an adult, we never ran out of hot water! This was a good, basic, comfortable beach house and the price fit our budget.

The house was very bad when you look from the outside. Besides there are better looking houses nearby so you feel really down looking at it from outside. The inside of the house is good. All 4 bedrooms are good, the sunroom is hit with the kids. The top deck is good for a drink. The appliances in the house need an overhaul though. The oven and toasted were so bad we could not even look at it, forget ever making food in those. Overall I would say it was a good outing. But maybe with a bit more research, we would have got a better house at the same price.
