Atlantic Realty

Back again this year! We have stayed here now more years than I can count. We even had family stay here during my daughter's wedding last Fall. Everyone falls in love with the place. It is what an ocean front beach cottage is all about! Atlantic Realty has been a great group to work with. I hope this place will continue to be available for a long time. It has become our annual family tradition.

No one in our group had been to the outer banks before so we weren't really sure what to expect. WOW! The house was as pictured and the location was great. The "Big Road" with the convenience of restuarants, shops, banks, etc. is just a couple of blocks away. The deck on the ocean side has seating built all around, but if we were using the chairs we couldn't see the ocean, and that is the only thing any one in our group would change. We liked it so much, in fact, we reserved again for next year!

As always, our family had a great time in the Outer Banks. I always trust Atlantic Realty to provide a great house...which Captain Mac's Retreat was. It was a large house and suited our family well. Everyone had their privacy and no one felt crammed on top of the other. There are a couple of suggestions that I have...at the bottom of the stairway going down to the beach, there is a HUGE stepdown...the guys (who are tall) didn't have any trouble navigating it, but we shorties in the group did have some trouble getting up and down...if there was one more step there...it would greatly help the way to the beach. Also, we felt that there should be a light in this area (either on the down staircase or at the bottom) especially for those moonlit walks on the beach. The last thing I would suggest is around the decking at the top...there is just enough room at the bottom under the seats where a small child could possibly fall...we watched my youngest granddaughter like a hawk as she is a little daredevil. Other than these three things...our experience at Captain Mac's Retreat was one we will never forget. We do plan to return next year and will be using Atlantic Realty, but we think we are going to try a different location next year... Thank you so much for our wonderful trip and great house!
