Very beachy and simple, what you see in the picture is what you get. Perfect for true beach goers, access is directly across the street, the beach is wide enough and it's close to everything. Great front porch and pet friendly too.

The house is maybe a circa 1945-ish classic single floor beach house and the interior has been minimally updated. There is REAL knotty pine [the old heave stuff] EVERYWHERE which adds to it's charm. Wraparound porch is very nice as are the six rockers and swing. The three bedrooms are in good condition as is the bedding. There was a bit of an "animal pee" smell coming from the bedroom opposite the only bathroom but nowhere else in the house. the other two bedrooms were fine. Two window A/C units worked just fine -- almost too well. Furnishings are very basic and haven't been updated recently. NOTE: NO WASHER/DRYER/DISHWASHER !!! Also note: The outside shower should NOT be used unless the light circuit/switch for the shower has been rewired [as of 8/29/09] - the back of the junction box inside the shower was covered with DUCT TAPE! This was mentioned to R.E. company as a potential minor fix for owners. In general, the location is very good at MP5.5 on beach road. ItIS only about 75 ft to the beach. Note that there has been quite a bit of beach erosion in this area but it's still possible to toss a blanket and cooler on the dry-powder sand and have a good time [although half the time we drove to SNH, 4x4-Corolla, Coquina Beach]. this place is an extreme bargain if you can snag it! With a R.E. company/owner promo we had it for the week at UNDER $620!!! This is an outer banks classic. Mind you no Washer/Dryer/Dishwasher and kitchen was of the basic, small, 1970's efficiencey style -- but it worked and a great time was had by all. I would definitely consider renting White again. One other note: The driveway is on a little bit of a hill [maybe 8' above beach road] so be careful if you have "little ones" roaming about as they'll want to go exploring across the stret or in the cactus/sand-burr filled lot next door! Ouch!

The perfect little beach house. Everyone had a wonderful time! Location is great, just walk across the street & up the hill & you're at the beach. Centrally located to all attractions & very near Avalon Pier. House iscomfortable & cozy with 3 bedrooms (full sized beds), 1 bath & outdoor shower, but enough room for Grandpa, Grandma, Mom, Dad & 2 teenagers. First trip to beach for kids, first time to OBX for all & everyone can't WAIT to go back. Would definately stay in cottage again. Men enjoyed being so close to Avalon Pier & went fishing every morning. Sister & bro-in-law visited & are seasoned OBX goers; they declaired cottage "perfect". Atlantic Beach Co was great to work with, everyone was accomodating. House was clean, not as clean as I keep my house, but I'm picky. Dishes are guests' responsibility & they weren't clean. Only negative:a washer & dryer would be nice, but don't know where you'd put it.
