Kelly's 23rd Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

Flying Pirate Half Marathon

40th Annual Hang Gliding Spectacular

Jockey’s Ridge State Park and Jockey’s Ridge Crossing, Nags Head. This is the world’s oldest, continuous hang gliding competition.  Hang gliding professionals from all over the world come to the Outer Banks to compete and have fun on Jockey’s Ridge State Park.  Demonstrations, street dances and awards ceremonies are all features of this spectacular event.  Families can enjoy a rock climbing wall, hang gliding simulator, kite making and face painting. A portion of the events proceeds will go to benefit Friends of Jockey’s Ridge, a non-profit organization which supports the development of Jockey’s Ridge State Park. 30th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival

30th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival - Jockey's Ridge State Park (mp 12.5), Nags Head. The Rogallo Kite festival, presented by Kitty Hawk Kites, will continue honoring Francis M. Rogallo, NASA scientist and inventor of the Flexible Wing, who just passed away in September of 2009. This two day festival will feature our signature kite flying on the dunes of Jockey's ridge as well as nightly entertainment celebrating the history of kiting. Spectators can see huge kites that will take the shape of sea animals, as well as other large specialty kites flown throughtout the event. Throughout the two day festival, there will be exhibitions and demonstrations including stunt and power kite lessons, free children's games and activities, and much more! Town of Duck 4th of July Parade

The one-mile parade route begins at the crest of the hill on Scarborough Lane going eastward, continues down Ocean Way, and then turns onto Christopher Drive. No part of the parade is on Duck Road (SR 12). Please plan to arrive at least 1/2 hour early to get the best parade viewing spot! Duck Jazz Festival

The 6th Annual Duck Jazz Festival is set for Sunday, October 7, 2012. The festival will be held on the Duck Town Green, 1200 Duck Road, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with the gates set to open at approximately 10:00 a.m. The Festival is a free, all-day event.
